Samsung Galaxy S II Confirmed for AT&T, Verizon & Sprint as Samsung Attain, Function & Within?

As we’ve told you time and time again Samsung is without a doubt one of the most successful manufacturers of Android powered smartphones. However, while the Galaxy S has given the company a ton of success it’s not really on par with high powered smartphones like the Motorola Atrix which features a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and a gigabyte of RAM while the Galaxy S features a 1GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM.

Luckily, Samsung is looking to considerably beef up their Galaxy S line with the forthcoming Galaxy S II. For starters, this device features a 4.27-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and more (full spec list can be seen here). It also runs Google’s latest Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 while most Galaxy S iterations are still humming along with the somewhat dated Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2. Unfortunately, while we can tell you just about everything there is to know regarding the Galaxy S II’s hardware we still don’t know for sure what US carriers will be picking up the device.

Seeing how the Galaxy S appeared in one form or another on just about every major wireless carrier in the United States including T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, many have speculated that the Galaxy S II will do the same. Well, while we unfortunately not confirm or deny that it will be coming to all of the above mentioned wireless carriers we do have a decent lead that says it will at least be coming to AT& T, Verizon and Sprint. Word comes from an online retailer by the name of Wireless Xcessories Group who has just posted a listing for a Galaxy S II case.

Assuming for the time being that this information is correct it also means that we will be seeing the Galaxy S II hit AT&T as the Samsung Attain, Verizon as the Samsung Function and Sprint as the Samsung Within. Of course, until Samsung or any of these wireless carriers come forth to officially confirm or deny this you’re going to want to take it with a grain of salt.

Regardless of which wireless carrier does end up getting the Galaxy S II, will you be getting one?
