Many different hardware manufacturers have released their Android powered offerings in an attempt to grab their respective share of the market but only few have succeeded. One of the most highly successful Android powered smartphone manufacturers is Samsung. Much of their success can be attributed to the Galaxy S which has appeared wireless carriers far and wide in one form or another. However, they are looking to do things all over again with the Samsung Galaxy S II which features things like a 4.27-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video capture, 2 megapixel front facing camera and Google’s Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3.
As you can see this phone is quite the behemoth but many are wondering if it will be plagued with the same prolonged update schedule that surrounds the Galaxy S. Well, while it’s not a major release of Android or anything, you may be happy to hear that Samsung has already pushed out a minor update for the Galaxy S II. Included in this update is a bug fix for the phone’s auto-brightness setting which has been giving some users problems. Additionally, they have also updated the speed at which the Swype text input software responds which is sure to come as a pleasant surprise for those looking to break the world texting record.
